MUSIC AT NWCUUC

We love music at NWCUUC. Our goal is to provide up-lifting, thought-provoking music to enhance the experience of the Sunday service. Our talented musicians offer a wide variety of music, encompassing standard hymns, gospel music, contemporary music, and original compositions. Through this music, we can better explore the messages that UU’s find sacred--love, peace, understanding, and optimism.

Please contact Bil Cusack, music program chair, for more information.

SMALL VOCAL GROUP

Our choir, the small vocal group (SVG), meets every other week to rehearse for Sunday's special music, usually during the offertory. The SVG sings everything from folk, to rock, to traditional music, and always has a good time. Eligibility is loving to sing, wanting to have fun, and a hankering for musical camaraderie.

MUSICIAN'S FELLOWSHIP COVENANT

OVERVIEW:

We welcome all creative artists to join this multipurpose creative group. The Musician's Fellowship provides an opportunity to encourage and develop creative expression in terms of musical composition, co writing, arrangment and performance of original material by its members, along with cover material when appropriate for the event. It also promotes enhancement of the member’s present abilities in terms of exchange of musical ideas and musical education.

ELIGIBILITY:

All individuals who play musical instruments, sing, write poetry or lyrics are welcome and encouraged to participate. Attendees with a functional ability on their instrument or voice will be incorporated into the performance aspect of the group as fast as possible. Others, who are beginning their musical or creative journey, are invited to sit in and observe, in the anticipation that they will fully participate when their skills allow such. Due to the performance aspect of this covenant, there will be occasions where the core group will be preparing songs for an appearance at a service or other church event. If at all possible and practical, we will include as many members as possible into these songs, but in certain circumstances it may be necessary for some members to observe until a particular deadline is met.

Music is an important part of our church. We project our message of Love and Understanding through our music.
