Other Groups and Task Forces

This is a list of all of the groups at church which function as small, spiritual groups, fellowship, or discussion groups.

Divorce Recovery Group

The NWCUUC Divorce Group meets the third Saturday of every month for a potluck dinner and conversation starting at 6:30 pm. Anyone interested in participating is invited to attend. For current meeting location and additional information, please contact Scott Weitzenhoffer.

dUUdes Being dudes

This group is a chance for the guys in the church to get together after a long week and just be guys. We meet at a local pub, have a beer or soft drink for those who don't drink alcohol and just shoot the breeze.

What this is not is a forum for discussing: a higher calling (if you do, then you buy a round), ethics for a new millenium (if you do, then you buy a round), tragedies against social justice (if you do, then you buy a round) or anything that doesn't involve some sort of sport-like competition, a car/motorcycle, beer, outdoor cooking, college/high school antics, your lawn, camping/roughing it, home improvement projects/tips, or things of the like.

Contact Rob Barreda for more information.

Happy Hands

Join fellow NWCUUCers and friends at 7:00 pm on the Second Friday of the month for an evening of Happy Hands.

A time to come to church and meet with fellow knitters-crocheters-quilters-beaders-sewing enthusiasts-painters-scrapbookers-etc..... . We have set aside time to meet-create-learn-explore TOGETHER!

No childcare. This is a time to finish those projects that have been haunting you-or to learn that new talent. Set aside this time to do something you want.

Playgroup

Being at home with the kids isn’t always about sitting on the couch watching soaps while eating bonbons. Often it’s scrubbing mustard (or worse) out of said couch while the kids scream for yet another insipid video... Sometimes you just need to get out of the house to stay sane.

The NWCUUC playgroup meets on Wednesdays at 10am in the church nursery. Currently the kids range from babies to 4 years old, and the parents won’t tell their ages.

Contact: Katy Carpman or see our Play Group page for more information.

Sunday Morning Men's Group

With an abundance of experience and wisdom of what it means to be a man, all men of the church are invited to convene Sundays from 9:00 to 9:45am.
Some possible discussion topics may include:

Male Milestones
Seasons of a Man’s Life
My life really took off when...
How big is the box you’re thinking outside of?
Men and: Work, Sex, Personal Support, Male Icons, etc.
Phrase not likely to be heard at Men’s Group: “How ‘bout them Texans/Rockets/Astros?”

Participants are encouraged to suggest topics and lead discussion week to week. It is our intent to foster deeper friendships between the male members of the church, and support one another in a unique, and safe environment.
Want to find out more? Show up at the church 9:00am Sunday. Coffee and doughnuts provided.
See you there.
